The Furloughed Four specialize in seasonal multi-course meals, along with wine pairings and craft cocktails; all from the comfort of your own home. Chef Doug Braselman and Chef Mario Reyes work side by side with sommeliers Ray Gumpert III and Taylor Terrebonne to make up this team of fine dining experts. In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic four furloughed Emeril’s alumni banded together to begin bringing an experience to the guests' own personal dining room.

Chefs Doug & Chef Mario have a long-standing friendship and have been cooking with one another for over a decade in restaurants such as Emeril’s New Orleans, Toups Meatery, and many of the Brennan restaurants here in New Orleans. Ray Gumpert and Taylor Terrebonne both worked their way through the ranks of the Emeril’s family of Restaurants, both beginning as busboys and eventually becoming Sommeliers of a Wine Spectator Grand Award-winning wine list. Ray Gumpert also worked as General Manager of Emeril’s New Orleans strengthening his relationships with locals, and patrons for years to come. Formed through innovation, the highest of standards, and strong local relationships, The Furloughed Four are just beginning to make their mark on the local New Orleans dining community.

What all do we provide?
Your evening begins with passed hors d'oeuvres and our seasonal cocktail. After small bites & drinks we start our seasonal degustation menu for you and your guests. This is usually four savory courses prepared by Private Chefs, paired with wine chosen by Certified Sommeliers. We conclude with coffee and dessert courtesy of Food Network's Chopped Champion Jeremy Fogg of Mae's Bake Shop.
Before leaving our team will sanitize all surfaces, equipment, and cabinets used during the evening.
We may even sharpen your knives, and organize your cellar too!

Hors d'oeuvres & Wine
This option is best for larger parties looking for a more casual walk around experience. Our chefs will personally work with you to find out the exact small bites to get your taste buds excited. We also will provide options for white and red wines with signature craft cocktails. Our chefs also do charcuterie and cheese boards for your guest to munch on while hors d'oeurves are being passed around the room.
